CNDH takes part in Tangier’ International Book and Arts Fair
The (Moroccan) National Human Rights Council (CNDH) participated in the 17th edition of Tangier’ Book and Arts Fair, held from 8 to 12 May, 2013 at the "Palais des institutions italiennes", Tangier.The Council exhibited a number of publications in this cultural and artistic event. These publications included the Council’s annual and thematic reports, memorandums, opinions, books of reference and guidelines in the area of human rights protection and promotion.
Exhibitors from different fields and backgrounds took part in this fair. In addition to the exhibition of books and publications, the program of the fair included meetings, round-tables, concerts and competitions.
The fair’s activities and roundtables tackled many topics, including creativity, history, education, art, reading, politics, economy, etc. Slow Food Story by Stefano Sardo was screened. Saâd Tazi’s book “Maroc saharien” (Saharan Morocco) was presented during the fair.
Several writers were invited to take part in the activities of the fair, including Abdeslam Taouil (Morocco), Colette Fellous (Tunisia), Daniel Picouly (France), Dominique Vittoz (Italy), Driss Ksikés (Morocco) Youssef Amine Elalamy (Morocco), Gwenaëlle Aubry (France), Hassan Nejmi (Morocco), Kébir Mustapha Ammi (France), Leili Anvar (Iran), Mohamed El Ouardi (Morocco), Nicole De Pontcharra (Russia) and Terence MacCarthy (Northern Ireland). Tribute was given to Albert Camus, Angel Vàzquez and Mohammed Beniss.
Three concerts were organized: a Jazz concert by Baptiste Trotignon trio, a piano recital by Dina Bensaid and a closing concert of Hassani traditional music by Mnat Aïchata (Sallam Yamdah). The closing concert was organized in collaboration with the National Human Rights Council.
